Health Benefits

Peterson Technologies offers a comprehensive health care plan through CareFirst Blue Cross BlueShield, including an optional Health Savings Account (HSA). Peterson Technologies subsidizes the premium for eligible employees and contributes quarterly contributions toward the HSA plans. Health benefits are effective the first of the month following the employee’s start date. The employee’s portion of the premium is contributed on a pre-tax basis.

Dental & Vision Benefits

Peterson Technologies offers a choice of two dental plans and a vision plan through CareFirst that provides access to a wide network, inside and outside of the Mid-Atlantic region. Dental premiums are company subsidized for eligible employees.


Peterson Technologies is proud to offer a generous retirement plan whereby eligible employees are immediately vested on the employee’s date of hire. Peterson Technologies provides a 401k contribution of 12%, regardless of the employee’s contribution. This consists of a safe harbor contribution and a discretionary contribution.

Paid Time Off

Peterson Technologies believes in giving the employee the opportunity to find a work-life balance, therefore offers an incredibly flexible and beneficial Paid Time Off (PTO) benefit. For every hour worked, Peterson Technologies contributes approximately 13% of the employee’s hourly rate towards the paid time off plan. This is equivalent to six weeks of PTO for a full-time employee, with the opportunity to accrue more. PTO hours include vacation, holidays, and sick leave. After the hours have been accrued, they can be used at any time and unused hours can be cashed out or carried over into the next year.

Flexible Time

Hourly employees of Peterson Technologies are paid at an hourly rate for all hours worked and for hours worked in excess of 40 hours.

Maternity/Paternity/Adoption Leave

Peterson Technologies gives parents additional flexibility and time to bond with their new child and adjust to their new family situation. Flexibility and family-friendly policies are essential to cultivating an atmosphere where employees can thrive professionally without sacrificing essential family obligations. An employee can take up to six weeks of company-paid time off for maternity leave and ten days of company-paid time off following the use of all regularly accrued PTO for Paternal / Adoption Leave.

Life, Short-Term, Long-term, and Accidental Death and Dismemberment Coverage
Peterson Technologies provides life and disability insurance at no expense to the employee and is effective on the employee’s start date.

Flexible Spending Accounts

Peterson Technologies provides access for employees to contribute to Medical and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts.

Education and Training

Peterson Technologies promotes professional development and works with interested employees to outline a professional development plan to help them continue to grow. The sky is the limit when it comes to enhancing one’s professional skills in direct correlation with company goals.

Computer Benefit

Peterson Technologies provides $1,200 every four years for the employee computer purchase.

Fitness Benefit

Good health contributes to goal-oriented individuals. Peterson Technologies will reimburse up to $360.00 to those employees who participate in this benefit.

Company Logo Apparel

Wear the Peterson name with pride. $150 company-paid and/or employee reimbursement is provided toward the purchase of Peterson apparel.

Referral Profit Sharing Program

Employees who refer Software Engineers to Peterson Technologies are subject to $500 (less taxes) per referral, per quarter for the entire time the new hire remains an employee.

Referral Bonus

In addition to the Referral Profit Sharing reward, Peterson Technologies will reward the referring employee $5,000 (subject to change) at the new hire’s six-month working anniversary date.

Year-end Bonus

Peterson Technologies provides a bonus based on its yearly performance.
